Had a really enjoyable day yesterday, with a successful Farmer's Market including a visit with David himself where I learned that all-purpose flour is a blend of about 70/30 strong flour/cake flour. David had experimented with a new blend of flours for his puff pastry this week and was well-pleased. Have not yet tried the pig's ear to check it out, but Bob had his and declared it delicious. We hiked at Rib in the sunny afternoon, and though the slush was slippery, we avoided any falls and enjoyed being out in the sunshine. In the evening, we each had a full beer of a new Central Waters offering, Brewhouse Coffee Stout. I made a good leek soup, we had an oven-warmed multigrain bread, and watched On Golden Pond. A very pleasant day.
