Enjoyed a beautiful weekend and got in hiking three days in a row! Now we're apparently due for a few days of grey skies and cool temps, necessitating bringing in the outdoor plants we bought to spend the nights indoors. Since it's still mid-April, that's not really unusual. I was pleased to buy most of the herbs for my herb garden at Trader Joe's, so I hope they remain healthy until I can get them planted. What a nice weekend this has been so far. A beautiful hike at Rib followed by a salmon sandwich on the sunny Dane patio on Friday evening. Good pastries from David followed by a sunny trip to Madison, lunch on the patio at La Brioche, good shopping at Costco and TJs (including buying a chocolate cake!). Somewhat chillier weather in store for a bit, including a possible night below freezing. Shouldn't be so cold as to damage new blossoms and leaves (hopefully) and it shouldn't be more than one night. Rainy grey day today. Good thing we got in a nice hike at the Ice Age trail yesterday as I'm not sure it will clear up enough to get out much today. It would be nice if it would stop so we could walk to church. Starting next week, Mass will be at Pacelli which is a bit too far to walk to make sure of getting there on time so today is our last opportunity to walk. Temps are still very mild, but skies are cloudy today, possible rain and thunderstorms. Had a great hike at Rib last night and the first meal out at a restaurant for a while as the Dane was serving at the outdoor tables and it was warm enough to be mostly comfortable. At least one more beautiful warm day in this streak, and only a slightly cooler streak to come. It got up to 78° at one point yesterday afternoon. I think today may get into the 70s a bit as well.
