Lovely day yesterday and we made good use of it with a great hike at the Ice Age Trail segment at Aniwa. Hepatica were out in force in white, purple, and pink, and there were a tiny scattering of bloodroot and just-starting-to-blossom Dutchmen's Breeches. Very nice dinner with Michael and Taylor post-Easter last night. Michael made his faux scallops from king mushrooms and I made cauliflower cheese and baked bean casserole. Michael made a faux cheesecake for dessert with cashews and home-grown raspberry topping. Learned yesterday that Pia will be leaving the social justice coordinator position. Sounds like she was a bit too enthusiastic in her pursuits of social justice for the powers that be in the parish. That's a shame as I think we needed her. We had a good Easter with 8 am Mass followed by an excellent brunch of croissant beignets with excellent whipped cream, cream cheese and Nutella dips, and fig, brie, and ham crepes for me and smoked salmon avocado toast for Bob. Nice day in Madison yesterday. Laura was busy, so just dropped off her Easter basket/bag. Picked Axel up at a park in Fitchburg where he had attended a potluck picnic for Indonesian students. He hasn't personally known any students whose visas have been revoked, but I did suggest to him that he make a plan B if things in our government get much worse when he is ready to return for fall semester.
