Fr. Steve's last hurrah (until he comes back to sub). I cantor and Cindy accompanies; she has already sent me an email promising to be there! She will never forget me again. Knee and finger are steadily improving, though there is significant bruising around the knees. Made it through my workout at Laura's gym yesterday, and it was enjoyable. Hope to return soon. Oh my, took a small fall from my new bike yesterday. An overly-courteous semi driver insisted on waiting at Clark and Illinois for us to cross the street. There was a cop having pulled someone over just beyond him and I was stressed as it is always hard for me to start up from the ground. I managed to get on and start pedaling, then realized that Bob had pulled in front of me just where I needed to go and I didn't yet have sufficient control to swerve completely around him. I caught the back of his bike and went down, albeit slowly. Unfortunately I landed on my right knee and jammed the thumb of my right hand. After a short rest and getting Bob to pull the bikes clear, I was able to get back on and ride home, but my knee did not want to bend much. I was grateful for the power assist. At home, I iced the knee and had Bob tend to a scrape on my right calf. After about an hour of reading quietly in my chair, I hobbled upstairs one step at a time, took ibuprofen, and slathered the stuff from the Spain market guy on my thumb and knee. I read for a bit in bed. I took another dose of ibuprofen midway, and am a bit more mobile this morning in both the thumb and the knee, but there is still soreness and not much strength. Bootstrap this afternoon. Had a lovely "English pub" dinner at Chef's Table last night. Had a "Cornish pasty" that tasted and looked nothing like a Cornish pasty but was absolutely delicious, and a salted caramel chocolate parfait for dessert that was incredible. Mick is hoping to attend an outdoor concert at the river with Adam Greuel tonight and has asked me to go over to the house around 7 and help Leone toilet. She will be in bed already and return to bed, and should then be good until he returns. Meeting at OBT with someone from the University who has been helping out with financial counseling. I have not yet used them, so I'll be glad to learn a bit more about them. Otherwise, quiet week ahead. Used the last of the goat milk powder today, and don't think I'll get more unless I can find it at Woodman's or TJ's at a lesser price than online.
