Cool morning, only 49°. Might need to go up and fetch my sweater, though the house is at 74°. Really short week with yesterday being a holiday and heading up to the North Shore on Friday. Mon 5 Sept

I return a year older. Had a very nice birthday weekend, spending time and having a delicious mushroom pasta dinner with Kurt and Barb, and a perfect sunny (if crowded) day at the Fair. Ticked off my boxes by getting our flu shots, having nitro ice cream, getting some good bags, crepes for breakfast, etc. at the Fair. Left earlier than usual because we were both tired and had enough. Crowds were heavy so it was less comfortable to go into buildings or even walk in the streets. Learned yesterday from Kathy on Facebook that there had been a nighttime shooting on the midway, causing them to close down the fairgrounds after 10 pm on Saturday night. Today is going to be summery - warm and sunny. Had a really nice surprise dinner with Michael and Taylor last night, to thank Bob for helping them with some repairs around the house.
