Eventful morning - Leone called while I was eating breakfast to say she had been trying to call Grandma all morning with no answer. I figured it was probably her phone, but I showered early and went over to check. She answered my knock and told me to use the key to get in. She was lying on the kitchen floor and had been there all night; she fell and couldn't get up. I really can't conceive of being so out of touch with your body mechanics that you couldn't get yourself up somehow, but she said she had tried many things unsuccessfully. She had crawled from the living room to the kitchen hoping she could reach the phone, but when she couldn't, she lay on the hard floor all night. We had been to Fazoli's with her after the Suzuki concert. She had fallen shortly thereafter when she went to close her windows in the living room.
She is fine, though a little sore. She couldn't get up with my assistance only, so I had to go and get the guy who helps in the kitchen. He suggested we also bring the nurse so he went and got her. We were able to get her up with them pulling on her arms and me lifting her shoulders from behind, and once she was up, she was fine. She was mentally clear and able to move around. The nurse thought I should still take her to the ER to get checked out. She was able to move around to change her clothes and she walked to the car as usual. A little stiff turning sideways to get in. They checked her blood, urine, and a chest xray and she's fine. She was recommended to have her urine rechecked midweek as there was microscopic blood in the urine, but he really didn't think it was a big thing. We were discharged and back at Oakridge in time for lunch. She's enjoying telling her story to all her comrades. She said she didn't sleep at all on the floor so she was quite tired and promised me she would lay down in her bed for awhile.
As to your packing day food suggestions, it sounds great. I can feel the cholesterol already! And Ginza hibachi is always a good choice. Nice to end with one of your favorites.
