Grandma said the phone rang several times last week in the afternoon and evening but she didn't get to the phone in time before they hung up. I told her it might have been you so she thinks you tried to call anyway. I see no reason to disabuse her of that notion. Sorry your week was stressful - hope this one is significantly better!
Vacation was very nice and more relaxing than I expected as we weren't very sociable or party-inclined. We actually spent quite a bit of time in the cabin. It was so nice to have the balcony so it didn't seem cramped. Michael was feeling depressed on and off and didn't want to go out to try to meet people. He enjoyed the movies on the in-room TV and the chance to relish some solitude. Apparently they have visitors at the house most of the time so he enjoyed not having to socialize. He seemed to have fun with us at dinner and on the three excursions. Weather was not as warm as I had hoped. Only Roatan really felt summer-like. We had nice enough sun to lay out on a chaise most afternoons for an hour, but the wind kept it quite cool. The water at Grand Cayman was actually quite cool and took a few minutes to get used to when we swam with the dolphins and rays, and the water in the underground cavern was quite chilly for snorkeling, but the caverns were amazing to see. The hike up the small "mountain" in Roatan could have been quite warm and sticky, but clouds moved in so it was comfortable.
I'm going to try to download my pictures and hopefully figure out how to get them onto Facebook. I was able to do that with my France pics last year, but I was stumped when it came to transferring the Richmond photos. We'll see how it goes this time.
As nice as it was to eat excellent food whenever we wanted it on the trip, it is actually refreshing to return to normal eating today. I didn't run in the mornings on the ship as we had to get going early on excursion days and needed rest on the other days. I actually did not work out at all (bad girl!) but we never once saw the inside of one of the elevators! I figured that going up and down between our floor (deck 12), the buffet/sun deck/lounges on 15-16, and the Piazza with the International Cafe on 5 on a frequent basis provided some of the physical activity we needed.
Our flight from Charlotte to Chicago was delayed over 2 hours on the return, causing us to miss the connection to Madison. They were able to seat us on another flight to Madison so we got in to the airport at about 11;15. We had checked our pilot case carryons through at the gate in Florida at no charge since the planes were full as well as the paid large bag. Three out of four bags made it back to Madison with us. I'm waiting for United to deliver my pilot case to the house. It's annoying, but not nearly so difficult as it would have been if it happened on the way out instead of the return. Our flights down to the ship all went off without a hitch.
Didn't get to bed last night til after 1:30 pm so couldn't manage to get up to do morning exercise. Planned to squeeze it in this afternoon, but wanted to download pictures and get them up on Facebook and ran out of extra time. Don't expect I'll have the energy after choir so I guess I'll have to get back into the routine tomorrow instead of today.
