Sat 12 Mar

Home again, home again, riggety jig. I am feeling quite guilty that we did not participate in the big rally at the Capitol today, though we did drive past on Johnson and State where we could see them. We rolled down the window to hear one of the 14 Senators giving a rousing speech and cheered from the car. If we had wanted to go, we would have had to forego all the errands I wanted to run in Madison on the way home to drive to East Towne and wait for a long time for the shuttle bus. We were quite tired and I didn't think I could handle standing in the cold for several hours after being in warmer climes for a week. My body wouldn't have known what hit it. So I wussed out and will settle for feeling guilty.

The trip was very successful in helping to relieve stress. We maximized our time at the resort thanks to on-time flights and transfer arrangements. The weather was most cooperative with plentiful sunshine and warm temps. We did have a spot of rain on Thurs afternoon, but by then it was not too inconvenient and we actually enjoyed the fresh smell of rain for short time. We had a sushi class and kitchen tour scheduled, so I didn't miss being outside for that period of time anyway. Food was very good and I'm sure I ate too much. I won't step on the scale until Monday morning, but I'm not looking forward to facing the music. We did do a Pilates class each day at 9:30 am on the lawn near the pool. She did about 45 minutes to an hour each day, varying the exercises. It was not as energetic as Patrick, but she had some good insights into body mechanics. The trip was a nice length, long enough to really relax but ending by the time I was starting to feel as though I had too much food and drink.

I hope your travel to San Francisco was safe and trouble-free. Hope you have a wonderful time and are also successful in leaving your stress behind.
