Wed 9 Feb

Could easily have stayed in bed an extra hour this morning, but feeling virtuous for making myself get up and do a full Pilates mat instead. At least it did warm me up, as did a brief pre-exercise cuddle with the kitty.

No, I truly knew nothing about Eugenio except that he was probably Italian. I'm not even sure I knew he had been a Pope. Don't think I ever really cared enough to look up any info on him, and I recall no one ever mentioning him. Maybe it's because my first year of high school, it was still Maria?

Nasty long day today. Had a client at an 11 am doctor's appointment where we had to wait a very long time and didn't get back to Point until 1:30 (for my 1:00 pm staff meeting). Ate an extremely stale granola bar from my desk drawer - ate every last bite because I was starving even though it tasted disgusting. For the record, the intern who had accompanied me ate every bite of the one I gave to her also - we were that hungry. I managed to buy a sandwich at the grocery store while waiting for them to fill a prescription my client needed that day and eat it while trying to talk to the pharmacy lady. Was late for my picky afternoon client because of the emergency pharmacy run, and didn't get done til 5 pm.

Had homemade pasties from a fund-raiser sale that Heather's church did last week. Freshly made by their parishioners last weekend. Dad and I agreed they were the best pasties we've ever eaten.

7:15 am Slice coffee cake, 1/2 large grapefruit, coffee
1:45 pm Extremely stale 90 cal Quaker Chewy oat and raisin granola bar

5:30 pm Slice beer bread
6:45 pm 136 g pasty, 1/4 c canned beef gravy, 12 oz skim milk
7:00 pm 1 pc Choceur chocolates

So, you really didn't know about dear Eugenio Pacelli's less-than-wholesome past?

See if they'd changed the name of the school while I was there I'd totally have wanted to know why ;)
