Sat 10 Jul

Your hotel looks lovely. Waking to roosters and the sea - how perfect! A tad quieter than Pamplona, I would expect. Paul the octopus has picked Spain for the World Cup, so if his record holds, you should have a pretty wild time with the locals on Sunday. If not, expect octopus on the menu at the restaurants that night!

Another lovely day here, so I should be able to hang out all my laundry today. We slept without A/C last night, and it was only a little bit humid. Very nice to have the cooler, fresh air. I'm on call this weekend so we probably won't stray really far from home - no last-minute trips to Madison or Appleton. I'm hesitant to hike Rib lest I get a call requiring a personal response when I'm an hour up the hill, but I just might chance it if the weather is so beautiful and I get chores done. We'll see.

I'll be glad when I finish this box of Kashi cereal and can go back to my Trader Joe's in good conscience. It was good to try something different, but I definitely prefer my Trader Joe's.

Yummy supper tonight - pork chops grilled with a rub including fresh sage, fresh beets and carrots pan-fried in olive oil with cumin and beet greens, baked sweet potato, topped off with a Central Waters beer.
