Happy Fourth of July! So glad to hear you are safe, hopefully having an awesome time. Enjoy Paris!
Was too tired when I got home last night to do an entry for Saturday. Had a very nice time in Green Bay, and the Star Wars concert was everything I had hoped it would be. It was narrated by Anthony C-3PO Daniels who seems a delightful and pleasant man. They used the projection screen clips to basically give a condensed version of the entire saga in segments, some chronological, some character-based. It was very well done and the music was fantastic. We saw Tom Yang in the parking lot on the way out, so we're not the only local Star Wars geeks apparently.
We loved the St. Brendan's Inn, an Irish B&B with restaurant where we had dinner Friday night. We made reservations for Fri/Sat Jul 23-24 for a really good getaway package they offer including two nights in a lovely room with a whirlpool tub, breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelettes each morning, and a dinner for two one evening, all for $199. We wanted to pick cherries in Door Co around that time, so we will run out to the peninsula after breakfast Saturday morning and return in time for our dinner that evening. I'm sure we would pay more money for less amenities on the peninsula.
Weather was lovely in Green Bay, sunny and breezy off the Fox River. Saturday started out around 73° but heated up well into the 80s by afternoon. Dad and I had the great breakfast at Hotel Sierra where we stayed and then went to their farmers market in the morning. We then drove back to St. Brendan's where we got a small tour of the facility and made our reservations as above, then left the car in the public lot and took a 2 1/4 hour walk along the river path southwards. Unfortunately we had not packed sunscreen, so we're both a tad pink today. Last night the temps stayed warm all night; it was 73 when I looked at the thermometer just before 7 am. There are possible storms in the forecast for the next several days.
