Sat 19 May

Another quiet night on the pager is a good thing. ArtsWalk was nice and I think half of Newman turned out. We saw Deb and Chuck, Lee and Gary, George Meeks, Bob Beeken, Margaret and Bob Konkol, one of the regular student coordinators, and possibly a few others I can't remember. We cut our perusal a little short because, for some unknown reason, I was starving and could think of little but food. We went to Kristin's (former Hot Fish Shop) because it didn't seem crowded. I would not return. They were switching to a new menu and didn't have several of the things on it including 3/6 of their side dish offerings. The service was slow and the potato salad (which I ordered because the fresh fruit was not yet available and I didn't want fries or chips) seemed to have no seasonings in it. The porridge mix is good, but I still prefer your concoction This mix has oats, all bran, corn meal and whole wheat, raisins and dates, cream powder, cinnamon and maple flavoring. The texture is smoother than regular oatmeal, probably because some of the other meal is finely ground. I had forgotten how the same exercise routines seem much more intense when the weather is warmer. Went to Elizabeth Hofer's Suzuki recital tonight. It was like old home week from all the Suzuki folks we haven't seen for so long. Elizabeth did a beautiful job.
