The centipedes in this house are getting WAY too big. I have gotten so much better about just whacking or stamping them and moving on, but the one this morning was humongous! I had difficulty even walking down the stairs as it was on the wall at the bottom. Even without my contacts, it looked to be about 1"x3" with the body being at least 1/2" wide by itself. Initially I couldn't even be sure it was a centipede and not some other large insectile creature, but creeping closer confirmed the identity. It moved slowly to the side wall and sat still, but I choked and missed with the flyswatter so it scooted away. I kept a sharp eye all the while I exercised and still don't feel comfortable going back downstairs. Yuck! Breakfast with my client at Ranchito's again today, and then if work doesn't interfere, a birthday lunch at Ranchito's at 11:45. Supper will be pizza from the Wheel House on our little Waupaca overnight. I shall try to limit to smaller dishes. Work ran a little late so I skipped the birthday lunch (gratefully). After the breakfast meeting, I had to pick up a client who lives a ways out of town, drive her to the Probation and Parole office, and then unexpectedly had to sit in the car with her 5-year-old because she is not allowed to take the child inside and there was no one at home to stay with her. When she finished, I drove her on errands before taking her back home, and at noon when I got home, I realized I had been sitting in the driver's seat of my car since 9:45 am. I'm surprised I could still move! And I was certainly not hungry for another restaurant meal. I had to fight every step of the way to go down and exercise this morning. I did compromise by choosing a slightly less intense DVD than my usual Wed morning fare. My body feels achy and doesn't want to move. My right knee is stiffer than usual. Ugh! At least I did it. So far we are on track for an early start. We are showered and I have almost finished breakfast at 7:00 am. The camper is in the driveway so we just need to pack up the truck, put the cold items into the cooler, hook up and go. I'm hoping there will be no difficulty starting by 8:00, 8:30 at the latest. It's a 5 1/2 hr drive and we'll stop for lunch at Schloegel's in Marinette. Had much fun at dinner last night at Christian's. They brought out a "snack" course in the middle of the meal with a little fresh potato dumpling with a port wine reduction drizzled on the plate, a savory snack that looked like a dessert. We had a lot of fun with Michael and will try to get together more often that way. We so enjoy our Madison dinners with you that it is nice to do something similar with Michael even though we're all in the same town. Decided not to get up to exercise this morning as I didn't sleep very well again. I had really expected the temperature to drop more in the night. There was a nice gentle breeze coming through the window, but not enough to encourage deep sleep. There, laundry is done to this point so I can relax on our camping weekend without a full complement of laundry to do on my return. Happy Father's Day to Bob and posthumously to both Grandpas. Seems strange not to have any fathers of the oldest generation remaining here with us. We're taking Dad up to the Dane for brunch after church. Hopefully Michael is coming, too. Dad got a Kindle as his Father's Day gift. I am nearing the end of the last season of Sex And The City DVDs. Didn't have time to watch for a week or two, so I had a long hiatus in between. The last three episodes have featured Mikhail Baryshnikov as Carrie's current dating interest. Fun to see him again. Steamy Saturday. Sheets are on the line, hoping to hang out as much of the laundry as possible in case it decides to rain. We need rain so I couldn't complain, but I do enjoy having the laundry dried in the fresh air. We've talked about walking down to the Farmer's Market today, possibly getting the bikes out for the first ride of the season, maybe even picking strawberries. Peaches came this week, so we're waiting for the first half dozen to finish ripening. I also want to make some homemade sangria, possibly a peach version with the sparkling peach wine I bought in Madison. Peach sangria turned out well. Looks like a lovely day. Pilates tonight, and if we have time, we should be able to walk there. Forgot to switch my Fitbit to the sports bra during exercise this morning, but it does allow me to enter exercise manually since the Fitbit isn't good at sensing things like situps, pushups, and other floor work. I shouldn't have missed much. Today I try the Costco cantaloupe and give it one more chance. It looks good. Nummy! I had a Narmer for dinner tonight! I'm looking forward to getting out in the camper again after a several-year hiatus. It will be a long drive up and back so we'll really only have the one full day for exploring Pictured Rocks, but it's the best we can get til Dad is done with the Karlen job. Enjoyed the day in Madison yesterday. Was very nice to finally spend some time with Laura. Even though it had only been two months, it seemed very long since the last time we were together. Hope you enjoy the Star Wars videos. Happy belated birthday! Ordered crepes w/sliced banana and pecans at Olympic. Apparently their supplier slipped a plantain in with their box of bananas and the cook didn't notice. I ate 3-4 pieces hoping I was mistaken because they were hard and tasted like cardboard. When I pulled the remaining slices out of the crepes, it was obvious to me that it was an underripe plantain. Oh, well. We have reservations the weekend of June 22-24 to take the camper up to Pictured Rocks Nat'l Lakeshore in UP. We brought the camper home this evening to make sure everything still works and we know how to use it. I was really tired when the alarm went off this morning. Wasn't a matter of not wanting to exercise, just wanting to sleep more. Will have to try to fit in some short walks again today. Fitbit stopped recording mid-afternoon yesterday. I think I let it go too long before recharging. Seems to be okay again, I hope. Having breakfast with my client again today, this time at Ranchitos. Last time we went there, I ordered a Mexican special that was delicious so I plan to look for it again today. That time I had already eaten breakfast so I just tasted it and took the rest home for later. Today I remembered to just eat my fruit so I can enjoy it hot. Had a very nice hike with Barb last night. Excellent weather. She said it's due to get hot and humid this weekend, though. I think I have a haircut/color update tonight and tomorrow's the annual ACT potluck meeting. Since we just did the Farmer's Market recently and still have some things left to eat, I don't think we'd need to get there early on Saturday. We will probably shoot to arrive in Madison around 11:30ish if that sounds good. I might want to look for some new summer capris for work since most of mine are ancient. Here goes another week. Michael is coming for dinner tonight and I hope to have time and energy to bake a rhubarb coffee cake. We collected some extra rhubarb from Rich yesterday as ours was nearly depleted by the crisp I baked last week. Had a really nice dinner with Michael tonight. He is getting ready to move with a couple of friends to a townhouse in Plover. He has had enough of living with Grandma's stuff. We haven't told Grandma yet. It will give us a chance to get in there with no occupants and put it into better shape. Another beautiful sunny day. St. Joe's picnic is this weekend so they must be very confused since it almost always rains for them. We'll go to the chicken dinner after church with Grandma, then pick her up again at dinner time to go to Bamboo House for Chinese to celebrate our anniversaries. Full weekend. Tired today. Sundays seem to do that to me. Happy Anniversary to the LeGaults and the Fliehrs (or those that remain)! The day has dawned beautiful and sunny for Walk Wisconsin. This evening we go to Fr. Tom's for a potluck for Newman musicians and spouse. I slept so well last night! Sometimes the simplest pleasures such as good quality sleep are the best. After a long, hard day at work yesterday, a nice hike at Rib, a good meal at the Dane, it was a perfect button on the day. I just couldn't give it up at 4:30 to exercise so I took the extra hour to make an 8-hour night. I have Walk Wisconsin tomorrow and maybe some kind of walk tonight. This morning I'm meeting a client for breakfast and she is disillusioned with her previous regular restaurant so we're going to McD's so I can finally try the blueberry oatmeal. I've walked 250 miles since I got my Fitbit. Just earned my badge today.
