Sun 18 Jul

Welcome back Stateside, jet lag and all. Let us know you had a safe journey, and any photos of your adventure would be wonderful to share.

Our day with Grandma yesterday went well - I think we probably wore her out. She was very glad to get out. We did the Baraboo zoo, lunch at the Log Cabin, drive through Devil's Lake park (which was just about packed to capacity on a beautiful, sunny Saturday). We took the back route from Devil's Lake to Madison through some small towns we'd never seen (Lodi, Springfield) and rode a ferry across the Wisconsin River that we hadn't known existed. We explored (and joined) the new Costco store in Madison so now we, too, are card-carrying LeGaults with Costco. We spent so much time there that we just ran to Woodman's and TJ's for our usual supplies, then took Grandma to Monty's for dinner. Dad wanted an Apple keyboard like mine, so we quickly ran in to the Apple store at WestTowne before heading home.

Grandma really enjoyed the zoo, and we had planned to try to get to the Madison zoo if we hadn't spent too much time at Costco. I told her we would try to get her down to Madison before the end of the year to take in that zoo, maybe after you return there, and perhaps you would join us for zoo and dinner. We'll have to see if we can work it out.

Glad you're back; sorry travel was less than fun. Will wait for report.
