Sat 26 Jan

Had a great overnight trip to Madison. Hotel RED was funky and fun. Restaurant Week dinner at Veranda Restaurant and Wine Bar was incredibly delicious. Had cocktails at the bar at Hotel RED and enjoyed the acoustic guitar player/singer. Chatted with him a bit after his set. Breakfast was delicious seafood Benedict. Got our erranding done and had lunch with Laura at Cooper's Tavern, accompanied with a wonderful authentic Scotch ale. Managed to muster enough energy to make it through the day, and listened to Prairie Home Companion live from the Overture Center on the way home. Satisfying. Food: 8:15 am Seafood Benedict (2 small crab cakes on bed of field greens w/2 perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise, 3/4 c fruit, coffee, 1/2 slice wheat toast w/butter & homemade raspberry jam 1:45 pm Pint Scotch ale, 2 fried eggs, 2 sm buckwheat crepes w/herbed goat cheese, 2 oz lox, field greens Samples at Brennan's and Costco 7:30 pm 2 slices TJ sprouted multigrain toast, 1 tbl Nutella, Nestle Fat Free cocoa
