Mark Gale had emailed that Garrett was supposed to swim in the Men's 400-m medley relay, but I see the USA took gold but
Garrett wasn't listed as one of the swimmers. Don't know the story as yet. Mark said he swam anchor in the qualifying heat and I wouldn't think they would be able to switch swimmers for the final. We reread Mark's email and it looks like they knew he wasn't swimming the final but would be awarded a gold with his teammates if they won. Apparently there were two guys on the US team for the qualifying heat that didn't swim in the final.

I'm not directly in the market yet, but I'm seeing that it will be time to replace my desktop computer sometime in the next year most likely. I'm toying with the idea of going PC since Windows is now nearly as easy to use as Mac, as well as considerably less expensive. What would you recommend as a good all purpose desktop model for Internet access, Michael's gaming, word processing, etc. Would I be able to bring across my AppleWorks recipe document or would that need to be retyped into Word? Do you know if new machines come bundled with a pretty good array of software, or would we need to purchase most things new. Does iTunes work well on PC? I'm just learning how to use my iPhoto - what's comparable on PC?

No hurry to answer, but let me know your opinions when you get a few minutes.
