Tues 2 Feb

Happy Groundhog Day! No shadows visible here. It's just after 8 am and the predicted snowstorm hasn't started yet. Schools were called off for today, so kids are feeling like it's a holiday. It's Tuesday, so it's my unscheduled day so I feel kind of holiday-like also. I slept in til 7:45 because I stayed up past 10:30 to finish reading The Martian. I enjoyed the book once they diversified from just his personal log to include the happenings at NASA and with the crew. The story was too one-dimensional for the first part, even though the premise was good. It was fun to follow his creativity in dealing with adversity; I strongly doubt whether I would have been able to keep going as long as he did. Went out shortly after 2:00 to shovel what is already down, and glad to get the first layer off so we can just deal with what continues to fall. Not good for more than about 2000 steps, but certainly some aerobic exercise. Food: 8:05 am 1 c Quaker Oat Squares, 1/2 c original soy milk, 1/2 grapefruit, coffee 12:55 am 2 slices Omega 3 toast, 2 tbl PB, med banana, Kirkland European cookies 6:00 pm Pulled pork on a bun, 4 tbl red cabbage w/apples Exercise: 10:50-11:20 am Jessica Smith Latin Dance Walk DVD 11:20-11:50 am Jessica Smith Dance Walk DVD 2:10-2:45 pm Shoveling 4-5 in of snow
