Sun 15 Jul

Hope you had a lovely Bastille day yesterday. Also the 100th anniversary of the birth of Woody Guthrie. We sang "This Land is Your Land" in honor of Woody and enjoyed a delicious cassoulet for Bastille Day. Today is another beautiful sunny day in Green Bay. We did church at Vince Lombardi's former parish just a block from the inn. There are three Catholic churches within easy walking distance of St. Brendan's. I believe we have been to each of them now and I liked the atmosphere of this parish the best. Music was so-so, but the old priest gave a good homily and people were friendly. Looking forward to a walk on the river path. We met a woman at the farmer's market yesterday selling homemade tamales that looked great. She sells them frozen, but I couldn't buy them yesterday and hope to keep them safe, even in the cooler, in that hot weather. She gave us her number and offered that we could call her today and pick some frozen ones up before we head home so I plan to take her up on it. I also want to stop at Kaap's and pick up another small box of chocolates for Grandma which I will freeze til her birthday in a couple of weeks. She seemed to really enjoy the box we brought her when we first rediscovered the existence of Kaap's.
