It was hard to finish Pilates mat this morning. I really struggled through the push-ups, but I made it! Sometimes it's too easy to just stop early, though sometimes I need to listen to my body, too.
Today I get to really start working with my new computer. Should be interesting to learn the new Windows 7.

Should be a relatively quiet day here to enjoy the lovely weather. I made it through our time in Madison (and the remainder of the day) with no on-call calls so I dodged the bullet. I got the dress I wanted at REI but they only had one left and it is a medium. The clerk said he has been checking the computer and none of the stores seem to have any left. The medium fits okay, though a small would fit nicer. I plan to take the dress and the receipt to Mpls next weekend on the off chance that they might have it in stock then in a small so I could exchange it. If not, at least I have the dress. I do like the cut and color (I got the brick/red).
Had a nice long nap this afternoon which felt nice. We decided to take Grandma across the road to Rudy's for the $10 pizza tonight. She really enjoyed it and it was nice.

Looks like another beautiful day and indeed a beautiful weekend ahead. I'm anxious to enjoy nice weather as we're into the time of year when you know it won't last forever. I hope we get nice weather again next weekend for the fair.
I was a bad girl today and had way too many sweets. Good news is that I kind of burned out and feel like I could go without major sweets for quite a while to make up. Dad and I got in our shopping at REI, quick run to Woodman's, and decided to eat on the west side to avoid competing with all the move-in families downtown. We found that little diner where we recently ate with you. I just wanted more of a sandwich than a full dinner, but of course we had to have pie!

Had a very nice evening with Kitty and crew last night. They arrived around 6 pm and we enjoyed beer bread and summer sausage to stave off hunger til the brats and corn finished grilling. Kurt joined us for an evening walk to Belt's to sample the local wares.
The beer bread was such a hit that I stuck another loaf in the oven this morning for breakfast with jam. Not sure if folks will get up before I really need to head off to work. I have a 9:30 and 10:30 home visit scheduled so I can't hang around too long.
Dad will leave Point around 2:30 today to pick you up, so he should make it to your place by 4:15-4:30ish. If you are ready to leave right away when he gets there, you should be able to make it to Adventure 212 to pick up your packet before 7:00 when they close the pick-up. If that doesn't work for you, give dad a call on his cell phone to make better arrangements.

Well, Kitty and crew should be here about 6 pm today. Bob talked to her last night; they were in Appleton and planning to stop off at Sunset Lake with the kids on their way here.
Sore today from yesterday's new workout. Could feel left shoulder and right hamstring particularly. Did the plain aerobics Fat Burner today, and may not get a morning workout in tomorrow if anyone opts to sleep in the basement on the futon. A rest day might not be so bad.
Got home late for lunch, but still able to take an hour which is good 'cause I needed to make quinoa salad. I had cooked the quinoa last night but was too tired to do anything else so I assembled it today. I'm hoping to pop a fresh loaf of Tastefully Simple beer bread in the oven right after work as an appetizer with summer sausage. Wish you could join us with the Misras but I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night. There should be plenty of quinoa salad left.

Weather is nice and cool this morning with promise of sunny skies and temps in the 70s all week. It was nice for sleeping - didn't want to pry myself out of bed this morning. However I did, and I did a new workout DVD that really hit all parts of the body. I am aware of many muscles right now that are normally anonymous. It was a dollar store find, and a well-put-together video using some fairly unique positions to work muscles in different ways. You use hand weights and ankle weights in the first half for added punch.

It was hard to get up and exercise this morning. My body just didn't wanna. One possibility is that I didn't eat enough yesterday. I got a little woozy part way up on our walk on Rib and had to stop for some water. I had drunk two liters in the earlier day as well as a green tea shortly before leaving, but I guess I was sweating enough in the humidity to need more. I also had a small lunch (half a sandwich while driving). I didn't get the full calorie count recommended for the day yesterday, though I was within the former recommended range before updating my exercise amounts. I made it through Pilates through the side series though I watched the clock all the way.
You'd be proud of me - I actually read the ingredients on my almond butter label. And better yet, the only ingredient is roasted almonds.
Ooooh, I feel like Friday is Christmas! I just found out I get a brand new Windows 7 computer for my office on Friday! Just read the updates on Michelle. Wish there was something to do beyond praying, but at present I fear that is our limitation. Kitty responded back that it's no problem to bring oatmeal/spelt scones, so warm up your taste buds!
It was really nice to see how well you fixed up your apartment. It feels much more like a home in less than a week than your Richmond place did when you'd been there a couple of months (by the time we saw it). It feels like you're happy in Madison which makes me very happy, too! Hope that apartment sees you through many happy times. A thought I had is that you might want to find a way to increase the light in the kitchen. Seems to me that as the grey days of winter come upon us, it would be a little dark there for working on your good meals. Have I told you how happy it makes me that you are in to good food and making healthy meals for yourself?

Long day, but a good conference. Diamond is a good speaker, and particularly the Ethics portion was the best I've been to on that topic. Did not appreciate driving home through a severe thunderstorm (as in National Weather Service warning status). Seemed like about 45 minutes of driving at speeds varying between the speed limit and 30 mph with the windshield wipers at full power. On a couple of occasions, it looked like there were waves sweeping across the road. Very nice to be home.

The week is flying by. I have just over a half day in the office, then I drive to Sturgeon Bay this afternoon for an all-day conference tomorrow. Hoping I find no crises waiting from the last two days out of the office at training.
Still feeling frustrated that my scale remains around the 130 mark. I guess I know that I have to make a radical change back to smaller, regulated portions and staying at the bottom of the calorie range for awhile if I really expect to see a difference. I don't mind the weight I'm currently at, but in the past when I settled for a 5-pound increase, it then became a 10-pound increase and rapidly upward. I don't want to risk it. Breakfast can remain pretty much the same, but the rest of the day has to be stricter.

Thought of you when I cut open a beautiful melon this morning. We didn't get you any melons at the grocery store, but at least you're close to the Fresh Market Madison; they had a beautiful produce department with reasonable prices as I recall. And there's always the Farmer's Market on Saturday.

I checked out the website for Bed, Bath and Beyond for down comforters and it is considerably more expensive than Overstock.com. Overstock has a wide range of items and prices, but there are a lot of choices under $100 and many in the $50-$75 range, some even less. We got the one on our bed from Overstock several years ago and I have been very satisfied.
Looking forward to having you home again today for at least one more day. Still hoping you will work a visit to Grandma into your remaining time here. She is so hoping to spend some 1:1 time with you.

The rain appears to have stopped by breakfast so there's hope of a drier day.
Afternoon turned sunny and very hot/muggy. We made it for the entire hike, but it was sweaty work!

Feeling a bit more energetic today. Had no problem getting through the Complete Workout which goes 70 min and includes weights and more vigorous aerobics. Still frustrated that the scale is over 130 more often than under. I'm so afraid of letting weight creep back on. I'd rather avoid going through that cycle again. For some reason, I'm finding it to be an effort to move this morning. I did my ballet, but it took effort of will to keep my body parts moving. My limbs feel heavy. Can't think of a good reason why.

Looks to be another lovely sunny day. Looking forward to hanging out laundry, restocking fruit, dealing with the Door Co cherries, and other small tasks of cleaning and ordering the castle. Sometimes it's nice to be home on a Saturday with minimal commitments. I get bored if it happens that way every weekend, but it's overwhelming to have small trips and lots of activity every weekend as well.

Glad to have gotten back on the hiking trail yesterday. I was a little concerned that we might have a difficult time with the heat and humidity, but actually the mosquitos were the worst of it and kept our minds away from any temperature issues. Bug dope helps, but it does sweat off.
Long drive today for work. Will probably need to move again when I get home.
Late opportunity for lunch meant not being particularly hungry for supper.

Raining already this morning - oh, well. I'm driving to Greenwood this morning so I guess rain isn't really a problem. I have the pager one more night tonight so we couldn't hike anyway. After the hectic weekend, it will be nice to have a quieter evening at home.
Drive to/from Greenwood went fine and I found a reasonably healthy road food lunch at the Curtiss gas station. Time saved eating while driving can come off my Friday afternoon work hours.
