Sat 5 Jul

Yesterday was a very relaxing day. Today should also be pleasant. The plan is to walk to the Farmer's Market this morning for my wellness challenge "to try something different" and to pick up veggies for tonight's dinner with Hartmans. Then I need to make dessert, which may be another rhubarb cake or else a rhubarb crisp, cut up chicken breast and set it to marinate, make sure I have enough good stuff to assemble skewers for the grill, maybe prepare sweet potatoes for wedges (which I think I'll do in the oven as opposed to the grill so they aren't as likely to char). We will go for a walk with Hartmans, possibly before dinner. I also want to make homemade sangria during the day so it has time to "set". We ordered a new antenna for the house to hopefully cut the cord from Charter Cable and still be able to watch Packer games. It arrived from Amazon today so Dad will put it up. We had a lovely walk to the Farmer's Market and did find something totally new to us: water spinach. It looks like long, wide grass and supposedly will be good on salads, stir fries, or with sour papaya (Gosh, I'm all out of that!) My favorite old Amherst bakery guy was at the market with his delicious pastries and breads. He said he built his oven on his property by Lake Emily and just does Farmer's Markets. We will have to make Saturday market a more regular occurrence.
