Happy summer solstice! Had a lovely dinner in De Pere last night and looking forward to a delicious breakfast. The people here are always so nice. Sebastian and Maria make a point of stopping by our table to say hello. The servers are always pleasant and chatty. And of course the food is outstanding.
Looks a little overcast outside. Apparently it's been chilly and grey here for the last few days. I'm hoping it's not icky to walk the Farmer's Market.
Had half a Croque Madame for breakfast with a wonderful blueberry muffin, juice, and coffee. Farmer's Market is in a new place in Green Bay, in the street starting at St Brendan's and going down to Main St. Bought a flat of fresh-picked strawberries (which I need to tend to before bed tonight so they don't mold in the heat), more rhubarb, pea pods, lettuce, cilantro, mint and probably some other things I can't remember. Did a Costco run, then drove up to Door Co. Had some of my favorite fig almond gelato at the Door Co Creamery and bought some ramp goat cheese to go with the beautiful prosciutto we bought at the Farmer's Market (from the Nala Cheese people). Checked out the outfitter stores we like (no purchases). Ephraim was having their annual Fyr Ball festival so the streets were packed. We went to our new favorite pizza place in Fish Creek and had their Fun Guy pizza, half of which is in the fridge in the garage now.
The weather in Green Bay and Door Co was cool (low 60s), overcast, and occasionally drizzly all day. When we got home about as far as Waupaca, it started to clear and it is 75 and sunny here. We took a lovely walk to get in the rest of our daily steps and enjoy some nice weather for a change. Just a dish of strawberries and a large, cool glass of water is enough for me for the rest of the day.
